The primary growth engine for WPM is through the acquisition and rehabilitation of existing apartment properties through our sister company, Wasatch Acquisitions & Capital, Inc. (WAC).
WAC was organized to help Wasatch evaluate, capitalize and complete the acquisition of undervalued multifamily and commercial real estate. WAC also evaluates the Wasatch portfolio to determine the necessity and timing of property dispositions. WAC has been instrumental in the acquisition and disposition of over $1 billion in multifamily and commercial real estate.
Properties that the company targets have typically lost value due to inadequate management or management systems; underfunded capital maintenance and repair; over financing; or inadequately structured financing. When Wasatch management identifies these elements in a property that is within a two-hour flight time of Salt Lake City, Utah, they review these as potential investment opportunities.
